For my inspired ink I chose to write out lyrics to a song of one of my favorite bands I the mighty. The lyric is from the dog Psychomachia and the line I chose was "stay calm you've got to carry on even with the weight of all you've done. When I met the band over the summer I had the lyric actually written out by the lead vocalist for me. Continuing on with what I made it's almost a like a zentangle so I'm going to say this was my zentangle and inspired ink project just because of how time consuming it was. I used microns and sharpie for larger bits so it's all black and white and incorporated many different styles. The finished product is something I'm very proud of although I wish the text was easier to read. The piece I was inspired from is an artist, Joel Birch, who is also in a (different) band I listen to which is how I found the piece. It's similar with how he used the different styles and shapes.

Stencil The main difficulty for me was how darn tired my arm got tracing it! Besides that, it was tricky to spray the paint without getting it behind the stencil. However, I happen to love the outcome and it's something I also stand for in life. In general the style with what I put I really liked. Daily Monster
The most difficulty I had with this piece had to be figuring out what I wanted to do. It came to me once I blew the ink on the page because it reminded me of a monster coming out of something. What better than a monster coming out of the closet (no pun intended but now all I can imagine is gay monsters) Observational Drawing I thought that this would be easier than I thought but actually attempting it was very hard. I drew Claire and at first I thought "oh this is terrible" but after looking at it I actually found it almost abstract and liked it. Illustration Friday - People
I had difficulty differentiating to make one facial structure seem male and the other female. I took a sharper edged jaw and chin and less point nose for the male (sun) and is you look closely I focused on making the lips more masculine too. |
